# Agent instructions (maksit-lto-backup)

Maintainer-local Cursor / agent wiring. Shipped in-repo for convenience; forks do not need this setup and will not resolve the homelab skill paths — that is expected.

Complementary skills (no precedence). Homelab paths use `sharedSkills` in `.cursor/maksit-skills.json`.

For **C# layout and analyzer prefs**, read **`common/csharp` SKILL.md** (Style section) and apply **repo-root `.editorconfig`** when present — the repo file is authoritative when they differ.

**Layout reminder:** `MaksIT.LTO.Core` (tape/library), `MaksIT.LTO.Backup.Shared` (config + orchestrators), console + Avalonia + Worker (`MaksIT.LTO.Backup.Service`) hosts, `MaksIT.LTO.Tests` (emulator). Prefer emulator-backed tests when physical LTO gear is unavailable. Physical mode works on Windows (`\\.\Tape0` / `\\.\Changer0`) and Linux (`/dev/nst*` / `/dev/sg*`); SMB works on both. Scheduled backups require `Topology=TapeLibrary`.
